Title: Draftsperson Position

Reports to: Chris Stewart
This draftsperson position supports the Director of Engineering at Corman Associates. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating submittal drawings for clients, generating fabrication drawings for the onsite shop, and archiving existing drawings within our current system. The drawings will encompass fixtures and environmental décor, utilizing materials such as wood, glass, metal, and plastic. Depending on the applicant’s aptitude, there may be opportunities for training in engineering, Microvellum software, and CNC equipment programming.
Essential job functions
- Generate, update, and archive submittal and shop drawings using AutoCAD
- Research job specifics and incorporate findings into drawings
- Review drawings with various departments and revise as needed
- Prepare engineering for CNC shop equipment
Minimum requirements
- 3-5 years of AutoCAD experience, or a certificate of education in CAD
- Strong understanding of spatial relationships, measurement, and dimensioning
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, managing several projects throughout the day
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and working with minimal supervision
- Practical understanding of woodworking
Physical abilities required
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
Experience with Microvellum software is a plus for those seeking engineering jobs with Corman Associates careers.
